UPDATE! THE RUBI IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE, BUT YOU CAN STILL PURCHASE PODS.
Why KandyPens RUBI Vape Pen Has Been So Popular
I discovered the KandyPens RUBI vape pen after searching for vape pen that was refillable. I still wanted a small, uncomplicated vaping device that used a flavor pod instead of a cartridge or a large tank.
With many pod vapes you have to use their pre-filled, high nicotine flavor pods. Many vapers, including myself, find that a big downside. The RUBI gives you more options with its refillable pod.
What Makes the RUBI One Unique in the Class of Best Vape Pens?
Fill it with anything vapeable – Aside from the fact that you can add any e-liquid to the RUBI, (including those thick high VG e-liquids), the pen can also take oils. That’s great if you want to vape THC or CBD oil.
Charging is a breeze – It only takes about a half hour to charge this little vaporizer. You use the standard USB cable that comes with your kit. If you’ve been getting a red light on the battery display when you inhale your vapor, you need a charge. A white light means it’s fully charged.
As with most small ecig batteries, you’ll have to recharge it at least once a day depending on your vaping style.
Portability– The RUBI is small…only 1 x 2.75 x 5.5 in. so it fits in the palm of your hand. It’s very portable. I also like the fact that it doesn’t add any bulk in my pocket. I’m not a big fan of larger tank style vaporizers that also aren’t very stealthy.
Vapor Production – Clouds are surprisingly large. I’m no cloudchaser, but I’m interested in a satisfying, tasty vape and that’s what I got.
How to Fill the Flavor Pod on Your RUBI Vape Pen
As mentioned, the RUBI, is an open system. That means you have to refill the flavor pod with e-liquid. Because you always have your choice of e-juices, that's a huge plus. You won't get diminished vapor as you use your RUBI, so you have to check to see if you need a refill. Unlike traditional vaporizers that have a tank, your juice level is hidden.
One of the downsides of the RUBI is that the pod has a very tiny fill hole and a tiny rubber stopper that keeps your e-liquids from spilling out of the pod.
You really need to be careful not to lose that little stopper. If you lose it, you’ll have to buy a whole new pod.
As for adding e-juice, your juice bottle better have a needle-nose tip, or you’ll have a hard time filling the pod. Vaporfi is one great e-liquid companies that sell their juices in those type of bottles.
Vaporfi's e-liquids are diacetyl free too.
Best Way to Clean Your KandyPens RUBI Vape Pen
Every ecig, from a cigalikes to a Mod needs to be cleaned and sanitized at least once a week. For the RUBI's pod, use a paper towel dipped in alcohol or vodka to wipe the mouthpiece and a Qtip dipped in the same, to clean the atomizer and battery contact points. After cleaning, wipe with a dry Qtip.
With the RUBI you can’t take apart the e-liquid pod to clean it, so you have to change the pod every few weeks or when it starts to taste harsh.
Once you change the pod and start vaping with it, you’ll learn to better recognize the difference in taste between your worn out atomizer and a fresh one. If you like to vape different flavored e-liquids, you'll want to have a pod dedicated to each flavor, so you don't get what's called “flavor ghosting”.
Kandypens pods are sold individually, and the price is steep (about $10 each at this time). They're available at Vapor.com. If you choose to buy it, make sure you join their Rewards Program so, you can apply points to future purchases.
I’m sorry you are having trouble with the Rubi. I am assuming that you cannot remove the pod/mouthpiece from the battery of the Rubi. Call the seller and explain your problem, as there is no easy way to fix this and you’ll need a replacement. There may be dried e-liquid that’s preventing the removal of the pod, but that may get the battery wet, and you don’t want to do that. Good luck!

I cannot remove the cover on my pen, it won’t allow me to put oil in the cartridge . I don’t want to force it off and break it.

How do I get the plastic piece off. If I can’t get it off I can’t fill my cylinder with oil? I don’t want to force it off and break it.
